Coach Jones has been the Defensive Back coach at Case Western Reserve University for the past four seasons. He has coached several all UUA conference players and one All AFCA All American, which is the first in the school’s history. Case has enjoyed a 39-4 record in the past four seasons and three Div. III national playoff berths.
Coach Jones, prior to coaching at Case Western Reserve, was the Head Football coach at Cleveland Heights High School for seven seasons. He had great success on and off the field with his student-athletes. Jones helped provide opportunities for his student-athletes to continue their studies and to play football at a variety of colleges and universities. One example: Barry Cofield who attended Northwestern University, where he played four years of Big Ten football and graduated on time. He entered the NFL in 2006 with the New York Giants, where he earned a Super Bowl Championship in 2007.
Prior to Cleveland Heights, Coach Jones was the Defensive Coordinator at Ohio Northern University for six seasons. He coached several All OAC conference players and several Div. III All Americans. He was a part of the programs first ever national playoff berth, making it to the Elite 8. Several student-athletes had NFL, XFL and CFL opportunities like Jamal Roberson, Ben Snell and Nate Riles.
Jones was the Defensive Coordinator at Trotwood Madison High School for seven seasons before Ohio Northern. He had the opportunity to coach several All GMVC conference players and several All Ohio players. One example: Duane Butler who attended Illinois State University, where he had a standout career and graduated on time. He entered a 10 year career in the NFL, XFL and CFL. He played in 3 Grey Cups with Alouettes.
Coach Jones is a native of Ohio, graduated from Trotwood Madison High school in 1983 and from Wittenberg University in 1987. He was a three sport athlete in high school, where he was All GMC Conference player in all three sports and captain of his teams in his senior year. At Wittenberg, he was a 4 year letterman and a 2 time All OAC first team selection.
Jones is happily married and a father of two.
